BALKRISHNA

Balkrishna leads the Fact Check team at the India Today Group. Before switching to fact-checking, he was a broadcast journalist for over two decades. During this time, he has covered the Prime Minister’s Office, the Parliament, several elections, foreign affairs, the economy, data journalism, health, education, science and technology, and the environment. He has also headed the India Today bureau in Uttar Pradesh, India’s most populous state. Balkrishna is passionate about using Internet tools for investigative journalism and has an eye for detail. Besides work, he loves music, photography, and travelling.

 

Jyoti Dwivedi

Jyoti Dwivedi is a Special Correspondent with the India Today Group’s Fact Check team. With over a decade of experience in print, web, radio and podcasts, she has reported on many beats such as education, women’s issues and entertainment. She has also conducted several sting operations in these fields, compelling authorities to take appropriate action. Before joining the India Today Group, Jyoti worked for Hindustan, Dainik Jagran, The Times of India, and All India Radio. She is passionate about classical music.

 

Pathikrit Sanyal

Pathikrit is a copy editor with the India Today Fact Check team. He also helps write, translate, and investigate fact-check stories. He’s worked in several newsrooms and has a keen interest in politics. When he’s not working, Pathikrit can be found listening to true-crime podcasts or playing video games.

 

Dheeshma Puzhakkal

Dheeshma Puzhakkal is a Principal Correspondent with the Fact Check team of the India Today Group. She specialises in maps and satellite images and uses open-source investigative techniques to investigate stories. Previously, she has written extensively on health, consumer affairs, data analysis, and satellite imagery, besides covering anti-crime investigative agencies for the independent news website, NewsMeter.

 

Vikas Bhadauria

Vikas Bhadauria is a Correspondent with the India Today Fact Check team. He sources, debunks and at times also copy edits fact-check stories. He's a law graduate turned media professional. Previously, he has worked with Newsclick, Live Law, and India Legal, covering developments in the transactional legal space, politics, environment, and economy. His simple pleasures in life include swimming, cycling, and playing tug-of-war with his dog.

 

Riddhish Dutta

Riddhish Dutta is an Associate Producer with the Fact Check team of the India Today Group. With more than six years of experience in digital media, Riddhish investigates stories in English, Hindi, and Bangla. Before joining India Today, he worked for TV9 Bangla and covered politics in West Bengal. Riddhish has a keen interest in sports, music and travel.

 

Tanujit Das

Tanujit Das is a Principal Correspondent with the India Today Group's Fact Check team. He is more than seven years of experience in digital and television media. Before joining India Today, he worked for ABP Network and the Zee Group. He has a keen interest in politics. Apart from that, he is also interested in entertainment, sports, and travel.

 
 

NON-PARTISANSHIP POLICY

India Today Fact Check is part of TV Today Network Limited and conforms to the stringent non-partisanship policy of the India Today Group. The India Today Group prohibits partisanship or affiliation with political parties, advocacy groups, or any other external party that influences editorial coverage. It requires all employees to certify that they have read, understood and agree to abide by the Group's Code of Conduct and Social Media policies. This is a mandatory part of their employment.

 

Employees are expected to avoid public expression or demonstration of their political views. They may not engage in political advocacy or participate in any online campaign or be members of any organisation/community/network specifically concerned with political change. Nor may they contribute money to a campaign or candidate online.
