Body of 11-year-old found inside bed box in Delhi
According to the Delhi Police, the suspect was known to the family of the deceased boy and had even visited their house in the past.
The body of an 11-year-old boy was found inside a bed box at his house in Delhi's Inderpuri area on Thursday. The boy had strangulation marks on his neck.
The police recorded the statement of the boy's mother and a murder case has been registered.
Neelu, the mother of the deceased, told the police that when she returned home on Thursday evening, she found her residence locked from the outside. She initially assumed that the boy had gone out for a walk, but soon received a call from his dance teacher about his absence from class.
Neelu and her husband, Jitendra, had filed for divorce and were living separately. When her son went missing, Neelu called Jitendra, but a woman answered the call.
According to Neetu, the woman asked her how it would feel to have one's most beloved possession taken away.
She told the police that she was rattled by the conversation. After a frantic search, Neelu said she found the child's body concealed inside the bed box. With help from her neighbors, she rushed the unconscious child to a nearby hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
The Delhi Police said that the accused has been identified and multiple teams have been formed to nab her and raids are being conducted at her possible hideouts.
As per details available so far, the suspect was known to the family of the deceased boy and had even visited their house in the past. However, they had a feud over certain issues, the officials said.
The Delhi Police said that on Thursday, the accused came to the house when the boy’s mother was not there and allegedly committed the offence.
