During the India Today Education Conclave 2023, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan shed light on the learning curve of the National Education Policy 2020. He emphasised the significance of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) for children between the ages of three and eight.
This marks the first time that the NCF has been designed for the foundational stage, with children aged three being integrated into the formal schooling system, following the guidelines of the National Education Policy-2020 (NEP).
In addition to focusing on the early childhood care and education (ECCE) curriculum, Pradhan also inaugurated Balvatikas (pre-primary classes) at Kendriya Vidyalayas.
"With the NEP's vision, education will be viewed as an opportunity rather than an obligation. This approach empowers students to select subjects and fields of study that align with their interests and aspirations," stated Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during the event.
