LARA DUTTA TALKS ABOUT HER LIFE IN MUMBAI

Speaking exclusively with IndiaToday.in, Lara Dutta said, "I came to Mumbai when I was only 16. I came absolutely alone. I put myself through college in Mumbai. So my experience has literally been over many decades that I have seen and grown with this city. Many times I have fallen in love and fallen out of love. I have moved on from relationships and got into new relationships. Finally, I found love, got married and had a child, who, I now say, is a Mumbai mulgi as she is born and brought up over there."

'WHEN I CAME TO MUMBAI, I FELT SO...'

The actress continued the chat by sharing, "I think there's no other city quite like Mumbai in all of India. It is truly the city of dreams. Especially for me at 16, when I came to this city, I felt so insignificant and small. And I wasn't coming from a very small town. Bengaluru is still a very big city. Mumbai is something else. Every time I go to a city, I try to find a word that describes the city and I think the word for Mumbai is survival. Everybody is trying to survive over there. To strive - very few of us get an opportunity to do so. But it's more about surviving that metropolis. And when you are trying to do that, you really need to have people in your life, some come in for a reason or season and some stay forever. Both of us came from Bengaluru and found each other in Mumbai."

Meanwhile, her film, 'Ishq-E-Nadaan', is streaming on JioCinema.
