Woman, her 2 kids found hanging at home in Lucknow, probe on

A 30-year-old woman and her two children were found hanging in her rented accommodation in Martin Purwa locality, Lucknow. Based on preliminary probe, police suspect that the woman died by suicide along with her children due to family problems.

However, no suicide note was recovered from the spot.

Ravi Kumar, originally from Bihar, lived with his wife Soumya and their two children (aged 3 years and 1.5 years) in a rented house.

According to the neighbours, Ravi, who had been living on rent for the past year, was quite happy with his family and worked at the Gymkhana club. However, last night when he returned home, he found his wife and two children hanging in the room.

Police arrived at the scene and broke open the door, which was locked from inside. A mobile phone belonging to the woman was recovered from the spot, which was sent for investigation.

"Prima facie, it appears to be a case of suicide related to a family problem. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the case, considering both suicide and murder angles," a police official said, adding that the post-mortem report is awaited.
