Commenting on the launch, Vikram Pawah, President, of BMW Group India, said, "Mini spreads Big Love by bringing the Mini 3-door Cooper SE in Chili Red, for the first time in India. It celebrates the legendary Go-Kart feeling and instant torque, all with zero emissions. The Mini Charged Edition is a bold, energetic and expressive car that perfectly fits the Mini Big Love spirit of a brave and daring brand which brings people and communities together. The Mini Charged Edition is your perfect partner for Urban Mobility. Every bit the original iconic Mini but powered for the roads of tomorrow.”

This is the first limited edition of the Mini Cooper SE to be launched in India. The car features a Chili Red exterior paired with a Multitone white roof. The headlamps, taillamps, door handles, logos and tailgate handles come finished in Aspen white. The Frozen Red Sports Stripes with Energetic Yellow highlights enhance the car's sporty nature. The hatch rides on Mini Electric Power Spoke 17-alloy wheels which are optimised to improve efficiency.

The cabin layout is similar but comes with Carbon Black upholstery. The 5-inch instrument panel and the 8.8-inch infotainment display are the same as in the standard car. The energetic yellow accents have been used inside the cabin on the start/stop switch, gear lever and the badging on the door sills. The car comes with navigation, wireless charging, Apple CarPlay and Harman Kardon speaker system.

Mechanically the Mini Cooper SE Charged Edition is the same as the standard SE, which means it gets a 184bhp and 270Nm electric motor. This electric powertrain propels the car from 0 to 100kmph in just 7.3 seconds. The same 32.6kWh battery is used, which gives the car a claimed single charge range of 270km. It comes with Sport and Green driving modes. The car is compatible with multiple charging options including a 50kW DC charger which gives it 80 per cent charge in 36 minutes. The 2.3kW AC charger does the same in 9h43min. (0 to 80 per cent charge).

The Mini Cooper SE Charged Edition can exclusively be booked via the brand's website.
