UK's Law Training Centre launches inclusive legal scholarship for all
The Law Training Centre in the UK has launched the 'Open To All Scholarship', aimed at making legal education accessible to all, including international students.
By India Today Education Desk: The Law Training Centre in the UK has launched a new initiative, the 'Open To All Scholarship', aimed at making legal education accessible to all, regardless of their financial status or geographical location. This scholarship, which was launched on August 1, 2023, is open to international students, including those from India.
The scholarship aims to remove financial barriers and make legal qualifications accessible to people from diverse backgrounds. It covers various courses, offering a grant of up to ã1,558 (Rs 164 lakhs) depending on the chosen course. The application process is simple, with no fixed deadlines, reflecting the centre's commitment to inclusivity.
A GLOBAL OPPORTUNITY
The 'Open To All Scholarship' is a significant step towards democratising legal education. As Eve Dullabh, co-founder and director of Education at Law Training Centre, stated, "We've personally experienced how invasive a lot of scholarship and bursary applications are, which can be discouraging, so we wanted to take a completely different approach."
This initiative provides an opportunity for international learners, including those residing in India, to study law remotely and qualify to practice law in the UK. This move comes after the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Bar Council of India, The Bar Council of England and Wales, and the Law Society of England and Wales to strengthen cooperation and legal exchange.

- SQE1 & SQE2 Just Mocks package
- CLC Level 4 Diploma and Units
- CLC Level 6 Diploma and Units
- CPQ Foundation
- CPQ Advanced
- NALP Level 3 Award, Certificate and Diploma
- NALP Level 4 Diploma
- NALP Level 7 Diploma
- Notarial Academic Training Course – single units only

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Our Open To All Scholarship aims to support as many learners as possible, so does not have invasive or unnecessary eligibility criteria.
The scholarship is available for anyone who would not be able to study their chosen course without the financial support offered by the scholarship.
Please note that the Open To All Scholarship is only available for learners who are paying their own fees and not those being sponsored by their employer. Law Training Centre will not request documentation upon your application, however may request this at a later date. Should any information be found to be inaccurate, all monies awarded through the Open To All Scholarship will be forfeit and must be repaid to Law Training Centre.
HOW TO APPLY
Interested candidates can apply for the scholarship through the official website of the UK's LAw Training Centre.
ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE
All applications are reviewed and considered by the Law Training Centre Scholarships Team to initially confirm eligibility. You will be informed of a decision quickly and, if successful, the discounted fees will be presented to you on your invoice.
FINALISING SCHOLARSHIP
Candidates will be required to make an initial payment within seven days of being offered the Open To All Scholarship in order to secure their grant. Failure to make such an initial payment within 7 days could result in the scholarship offer being withdrawn.
Candidates can select to pay the remaining balance for their course either in full, or via interest-free instalments (subject to an admin fee). Learners can also make use of professional qualifications loans through Lendwise.
