The incident came to light on August 7 after distressed students lodged a formal complaint with the college administration and the local police.

Following the complaint by the students, the college administration conducted an investigation, which confirmed the allegations.

Consequently, disciplinary action was taken against the accused students. Both Mantasha Kazmi and Mohammad Amir, who were students of BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery) in their respective years, have been suspended for a period of six months.

Dr BN Sahni, the acting principal of the college, disclosed the details of the case, stating that the accused students have been suspended for six months. Sahni said that all the objectionable photos and videos were deleted from the phones of the accused students.

Meanwhile, Superintendent of Police in Gazipur, Omveer Singh, confirmed that a complaint has been filed, adding that they are taking the matter seriously and currently conducting a thorough investigation.

However, he added that no obscene photos or videos were recovered from the accused students’ mobile phones, speculating that the mobile phones might have been formatted.
