'Had supported wife's education': UP man claims after being assaulted by wife

A case similar to Jyoti Maurya's has emerged in Banda, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman, along with her brothers, broke her husband's leg over a minor dispute.

A man was physically assaulted by his wife and her brothers after a minor dispute in Uttar Pradesh's Banda.

The dispute arose when the man, Kamta Prasad, asked his wife if she had fed their nephew. Enraged by this, his wife and her brothers broke his legs.

He also claimed that he had supported his wife's education, helping her achieve her B.Ed, M.Ed, and Ph.D., and ultimately become a lecturer. He further stated that his wife often taunted him and called him useless.

The police, upon being alerted about the incident, promptly intervened and rushed Prasad to the hospital for medical attention.

Contrarily, the wife's brother stated that Prasad used to drink alcohol and then misbehave.

Meanwhile, police have confirmed that an investigation is currently underway. They also stated that they don't want to take legal action against each other. However, if a formal complaint is lodged, appropriate action will be taken.
