WI vs IND: India captain Hardik Pandya was slammed by fans after a stuttering innings in the final T20I match of the series against West Indies. Pandya scored 14 runs off 18 balls.

India captain Hardik Pandya copped the wrath of fans after his performance in the first half of the 5th T20I match of the West Indies series. Pandya, who scored a stuttering 14 off 18 balls was slammed by a section of the fans on social media who questioned the captain over his series of poor outings in national colours.
Pandya was 8 off 16 at a point in time, while batting in the death overs of the game and had not hit a single boundary in his innings. The captain smashed a six off Romario Shepherd to make his scorecard look a little bit better, but got out in the very next ball. Hardik's innings, which came at a time when India needed to score rapid runs, sucked the energy out of the batting line-up, which stumbled in the final three overs in the 5th T20I.
India failed to put up a par score and were only able to score 165/9 in the first innings of the game. The total was set, largely due to the efforts of Suryakumar Yadav who anchored the Indian innings from one side and scored 61 off 45 balls. Suryakumar added 49 runs with Tilak Varma and stabilised the Indian innings after the visitors lost both openers in the first three overs of the match.
Tilka Varma scored an attacking 27 off 18 balls bt was dismissed by Roston Chase who took a diving catch off his own bowling in the 8th over of the match. Fans were not happy with the Indian batting performance and put the majority of the blame on Pandya who has had a quiet T20I series by his standards.
Pandya has not scored above 25 runs in any innings in the T20I series and has not picked up any wickets in the 3rd and 4th T20I match of the bilateral.
